We would like to offer you a horse trek in the steppes of Orkhon valley national park and the famous Naiman Nuur/eight lakes/ national parks in Mongolia. Those places will be wonderful places for horse riding and galloping. This destination is an off beaten trek and located in the central region of the country. This tour is also based on tourist attractions which is you will visit at famous Genghis Khan ancient capital, Hustai national park for admiring Takhi wild horses, waterfall, Tuvkhun ancient Buddhist monastery and famous Naiman Nuur/eight lakes/ national park while you are riding on horseback. 

This tour is supported by vehicles on the first and last days and when we get into the deep valley of Naiman Nuur national park, we will leave our car and pack our luggages and food on horseback. We will sleep in tents under starry nights and set camping fires every night. We will get a cook on horse trek so the cook will make food for you on tour and you will be riding together with guide and local horseman guide.  

Itinerary: Horse Trekking in the Orkhon Valley national park and Naiman Nuur/Eight Lakes/ national park.

Day 1. Arrival day in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Meet us at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Day is on your own.

Day 2. Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia. In the morning, we will start a trip to Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia. Trip distance take 6 hours to get there. On the way, we will visit a small sand dune area and have lunch. Surrounding area is named as Khugnu Khan national park and small desert. Afternoon, we will arrive at Karakorum city and visit a legendary Erden-Zuu Buddhist monastery, Karakorum museum and get an introduction of Genghis Khan’s history and Mongols. Transfer to tourist camp. Overnight sleep in tourist ger camp.      

Day 3. Orkhon Waterfall. In the morning, we will travel through a beautiful valley to the Orkhon waterfall. This waterfall is a stunning beautiful spot to look down, it falls from 24meters high cliffs. Enjoy hiking around the area. Today, we will visit our family and we will start a horse trek from here. Stay overnight at a horse riding family.

Day 4-7. Horse trekking into Naiman Nuur/Eight Lakes/. full 4 days, we will do adventure horse trek into the Naiman Nuur/Eight lakes, which was created by volcanic eruptions centuries ago, is now part of the 115 square km area Naiman Nuur national park. There are eight lakes located not far from each other. Those 4 days, we will sleep in tents and pack our luggages on horseback and we will ride approximately 30km a day.

Day 8-9. Horse Riding in the Orkhon Valley national park. Those two days, we will go horseback riding in the beautiful valley renowned Orkhon Valley national park. This place is home to the cradle of ancient nomads that have been living since ancient times still today. The Orkhon Valley national park was registered in UNESCO’s World heritage site. We are riding to Tuvkhun monastery which is located on the peak of Mt, Under shireet it’s 2350m above sea level. Monastery was built by the first leader of Mongolian Buddhism, Zanabazar in 1654. Horse riding distance is 35km a day and we will stay overnight in tents.

Day 10. Visit Hustai National Park and watch the takhi wild horses. In the morning, we will leave our horseman and horses. Continue our trip to Hustai national park and watch the wild horses and more wild animals. Sleep in a tourist camp.

Day 11. Return to Ulaanbaatar capital. 

In the morning, we will return back to Ulaanbaatar city. Day is your own. 

Day 12. Departure.

You are transferred to the airport and farewell.
